Edward “Ted” Bell

Edward “Ted” Bell

BELL, Edward Robin “Ted” of Port Dover passed away Friday, July 18, 2025, at Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe, in his 87th year, Predeceased by his loving wife Nancy (2018), his son Rod (2020) (Rebecca), granddaughter Breanne and his parents Patricia and Ted. Cherished father of Melinda Bell (Brad Halyk) of Delhi and Melodie King of Paris. Loving and proud grandfather of Joe, Chelsey and Maddie. Dear brother of Pete (June) Bell of Cayuga and brother-in-law Larry (Marilyn) Morley. Ted will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He and his wife Nancy lived on a farm in Canboro for many years raising their three children, and he established a haven for Border Collies which their heritage can be found across Canada. Once Ted retired from the CP Railway, they moved to Port Dover. For the last 20 years, Ted’s garage became a local drop-in for the neighbourhood. Great conversations and laughter will be remembered by all. Ted, throughout his life, was also a hunter, a mason, and a volunteer firefighter. However, his most cherished role was that of dad and papa. Once he had grandchildren that “gruff tough guy” disappeared and he showed us what a caring and loving man he really was. Ted’s BIG personality will be missed dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME, Port Dover, 519-583-1530. For those wishing, donations to Diabetes Canada, Simcoe & District Humane Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Online condolences and/or donations can be made at www.thompsonwatersfuneralhome.ca.
