Wendy Susanne Evans
EVANS, Wendy Susanne of Port Dover, passed away at Norfolk General Hospital on September 1, 2025, soon after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Wendy faced her illness with the same strength and resilience that defined her life. She will be greatly missed by her sisters, Dianne Telfer, Jane Kapel, and Miriam MacKenzie, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends. Predeceased by her parents Ken Evans and Reta Evans-Gundry, step-father Harvey Gundry, her brothers Kenneth Evans and Dale Evans, sisters Cindy Gaston and Karen Smith. Wendy retired from Norfolk General Hospital where she served for over twenty-five years. She was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #158 for twenty-five years. She was a lifelong animal lover who took in countless strays. She had a green thumb and a gift for gardening. Her front lawn was the envy of the neighbourhood, lush, vibrant and weed free. She was always on the go, full of energy, and ready to lend a hand or share a laugh. Her warmth, generosity, and zest for life touched everyone she met. In keeping with Wendy’s wishes, cremation has taken place with a private family service to follow. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME, Port Dover, 519-583-1530. For those wishing, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Simcoe and District Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.
