Michael Acton-Bond
ACTON-BOND, Michael George – passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 22, 2014 in the presence of his only daughter, Susan. He was born in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. He was the son of the late Charles and Minnie (Gamble) Acton-Bond. Having spent most of his life in the Ottawa area, he was a co-founder of Rideau Manor Marina and was instrumental in the design and construction of the Rideau Manor Restaurant. In his later years he designed a wind-powered pump system that provided clean drinking water and was installed in Haiti and in Africa. Michael is survived by his loving daughter Susan (Daniel Scott), his grandchildren Maggie and Will, his brother-in-law Fred Harris, his sister-in-law Karen Acton-Bond and his four nieces, Mary Acton-Bond (Jason McNaught), Katie Acton-Bond (Neil Johnston), Rebecca Acton-Bond (Morgan Begg) and OC Acton-Bond (Michael Francis). He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Minnie (Gamble) Acton-Bond, his sister Mary Harris and his twin brother Charles Acton-Bond. Carrol Simpson
SIMPSON, (nee Brearley) Caroline (Carrol) Diane of Port Dover passed away surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Norfolk General Hospital in her 73rd year. Cherished wife of Ken for 49 years, loving and devoted mother to Teresa (Adam) Nasser of Oshawa, Shelley (Grant) Shuttleworth of Welland, and Kendra (Jim) Simpson-Barnes of Waterford. Proud grandmother of Kali, Olen, James, David, Ketara, Kurseena, Kyra, Matthew, Griffin, Brooklyn, Addison, Avaiah and great-grandmother to Madeline. Daughter of the late Orwell and Gladys Brearley, sister to Jim (Marilyn) Brearley, and sister to the late Robert Brearley. Carrol loved her community, spending time as a Girl Guides of Canada leader, member of the Kinettes, Probus, and the Eastern Star. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, and spending time with her grandchildren. Carrol’s warm smile and caring nature will be missed by all that knew and loved her. The family wishes to invite friends and extended family to share their memories of Carrol on Thursday, June 19, 2014 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. with an Eastern Star Service at 6:30 p.m. at Thompson Waters Funeral Home, 102 First Ave., Port Dover, 519-583-1530. Douglas Cruickshank
CRUICKSHANK, James “Douglas” of Port Dover passed away after a brief illness at St Joseph’s Hospital Hamilton on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 in his 82nd year. Devoted husband of Maebelle, loving father to Alex (Gitte) of Klamath Falls, Oregon, David (Laurie) of Calgary and Scott (Lisa) of Edmonton. Dear grandfather to Dina, Alasdair and Delaney. He will be sadly missed by his brother Roger (Twila) of Vittoria. Douglas enjoyed doing many things, among them photography, especially of birds, woodworking, hiking and travelling. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life in memory of Douglas will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Grace United Church corners of Chapman and St. George Streets, Port Dover. Michael Cunliffe
CUNLIFFE, Michael David. On April 23, 2014, our family suffered the loss of Michael after a sudden illness. Micheal was the youngest son of Beryl and brother to Kathy, Debby, Tony, Belinda and Sean. Michael’s greatest joy was his daughter Mackenzie, who he also leaves behind. Michael has gone to be with his brothers Eddy and Bobby, and both his dad and stepdad. Uncle Michael will be missed by his many nieces and nephews; also by Susie and his many friends.

Ann Lambert
LAMBERT, Elizabeth “Ann”. June 2, 1941 – May 31, 2014. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother Elizabeth “Ann” Lambert. She passed away peacefully at the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary on May 31, 2014. She is survived by her four children, Terrie MacDonald, Cheryl Lambert, Peggy Lambert, Wayne (Stephanie) Lambert and seven grandchildren. Ann fought a long hard battle with illnesses and is now where she wanted to be, reunited with her husband Eugene Lambert in Heaven. A celebration of her life will be held Sunday, June 22, 2014 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Sea Scout Hall in Port Dover. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Canadian Diabetes Association.

Juta Upshall
UPSHALL, Juta Linnea (nee Klemmer) of Port Dover passed away on June 4, 2014. Beloved wife of Charles, dear sister of Aili Gibson (Rod Armstrong) and cherished sister-in-law of David. Loving aunt of Geoffrey and Calvin. Juta enjoyed a long career as a librarian, particularly in the Arts Department of the Toronto Reference Library. For many years she was a member of the Kalev Estienne Gymnasts. Friends were invited to meet with family on Monday, June 9, 2014 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Thompson Waters Funeral Home, 102 First Ave. Port Dover, 519-583-1530. Richard Gordon
GORDON, George “Richard” of Port Dover passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at his residence in his 46th year. Richard is survived by his daughter April, loving mother Vera, special friend Lee, dear sisters Anna (Ken) of Port Dover, Jane (David) of Simcoe, Karen (Jim) of Vittoria and Susan of Jarvis. Richard is also survived by eight nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by extended family and close friends. Predeceased by his father Allan. Richard worked at Harsco for over 24 years. Friends are invited to meet with family for a Graveside Service in memory of Richard on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Port Dover Cemetery. DOSSER, Gunner Frederick of Simcoe passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 31, 2014 in his 43rd year. Gunner is survived by his children Simon and Georgia, dear mother Olive, and will be sadly missed by his siblings Mark, Wayne (Lisa), Clifford (Judy) and Douglasse. Cremation has taken place and in keeping with Gunner’s wishes a graveside service will be held on Friday, June 6, 2014 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s Anglican Church Cemetery in Jarvis.
