Pat Anderson
ANDERSON, Pat – Passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at the Norfolk General Hospital. Mrs. Pat Anderson of Port Dover in her 79th year. Beloved wife of Wayne for 61 years. Loving mother of Cheryl Mereweather (Clayton) of Simcoe, Sandra Anderson of Port Dover and Brian Anderson of Port Dover. Cherished Grandma and Great-Grandma to Jamie Mereweather and Michael Mereweather (Julie) and their children Kira and Liam. Dear sister of the late Betty Noble (2013). Pat will be sadly missed by other relatives and friends. Friends were invited to visit on Sunday, September 22, 2013 from 1 – 4 p.m. at the Ferris Funeral Home, 214 Norfolk St. S., Simcoe where Pat’s funeral service was held on Monday, September 23, 2013 at 11 a.m. Reverend Brian Elder officiated. David Bush
BUSH, David. Passed away at Leisure Living in Jarvis on Saturday, September 21, 2013 in his 62nd year. Dearly loved father and father-in-law of Dylan and Tara Bush of Port Dover, Holley Bush and Gary Schoffro of Simcoe, April and Rick Curtis and Laural and Flip Netolicky all of Florida. Loving grandfather of Chloe, Ricky, Noah, Carson and Rain. Dear brother of Doug Bush of Port Dover and Mary Ann Walsh of Jarvis. Predeceased by his wife Margaret (nee Morrison) and parents George and Helen. Dave was a lifelong resident of Port Dover and loved being near the lake. He will be missed and remembered by his extended family and many friends. Margaret Clark
CLARK, Margaret Olive (nee Bridgwater). Passed away peacefully at Saint Luke’s Place, Cambridge, Ontario on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at age 90. Predeceased by her loving husband Raymond Clark. Beloved mother of Margaret Ann Collard (Samuel “Rex”), Linda Mary Pitcher (Douglas), Judith Rae Hilgartner (James) and Elizabeth Jean Seaver (Thomas). Dearly loved grandmother of twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents, four brothers and one granddaughter. The family received friends at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge, Ontario N3H 3J8 (519-653-3251) on Friday, September 20, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Rebekah Service was held at 6:45 p.m. Funeral Service was held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Trillium United Church, 450 King Street, East, Cambridge at 11 a.m. with reception following. Interment Memory Gardens Cemetery, Breslau, Ontario. GAMBLE, Mrs. Kay (nee Spain) of Kearney. Peacefully at Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital in Orillia on Wednesday, September 18, 2013. Mrs. Kay Gamble was in her 88th year.
Beloved wife of the late Ted Gamble. Dear mother of Sharon (Tom), Dennis (Brenda), Wendy (late George), Pat (Jim), Jim (Diz), Vickie (Pete), Kathy (Russ) and Laurie (Rob).
Cherished grandmother of Tommy, Matt, Chad, Darryl, Jeremy, Trevor, Tara, Michelle, Paul, Mike, Krystal, Samantha, Darrin and Kyle. Great-grandmother to Jack, Nathan, Daisy, Olivia, Carter, Evangeline, Madeline, Owen, Aiden and Zachary. Dear sister of Bill Spain (late Eva) of Port Dover; and predeceased by siblings Jack, Marj and Lucy. The family received visitors at the Opatovsky Funeral Home-Dempster Chapel, 210 Ontario Street in Burk’s Falls on Saturday, September 21, 2013 from 11 a.m. until time of service. A service to celebrate the life of the late Mrs. Gamble was conducted in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2013. Pastor Rick Callery officiated. Interment in Knox United Cemetery, Kearney. If desired, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be sincerely appreciated by the family.

Hilda Jones
JONES, Hilda of Port Dover, passed away at Dover Cliffs LTC, on Sunday, September 22, 2013 in her 89th year. Cherished mother of Gary Jones (Susan Robertson) of Port Dover and Anthony Jones of Port St. Lucy, Florida. Dearly loved grandmother of Rosie, Brittany, Konan and Toran, great-grandmother of Rhys, Brooke, Dharia, Amber and Jordon and great-great-grandmother of Brody. Hilda was predeceased by her husband Alfred, daughter Karen, son Gordon, her parents John and Jessie and twelve brothers and sisters. Hilda was a proud Scot by birth and a proud Canadian by choice. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Klaas Danser
DANSER, Klaas, of Port Dover, June 29, 1934 – September 12, 2013, passed away at Norfolk General Hospital in his 80th year. Klaas was born and educated in the Netherlands. He joined the Royal Dutch Marines in 1954 and served in Curacao, the Dutch Antilles. After military service he moved to London, England and was employed at the London Clinic. In late 1973 he emigrated to Canada and was soon employed in the Department of Physiology of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, a position he occupied for 25 years. Upon retirement he travelled for three years before settling in Port Dover to be close to his adoptive Canadian family. Klaas is survived by brother Harm and sisters Willy and Annie. He has been particularly close to sister Annie (Amsterdam) and niece Yvonne (Prague) who have visited Canada frequently. He was predeceased by his parents and three brothers in Holland. Cremation has taken place, and as per Klaas’ request there will be no service. For those wishing, memorial donations to the Port Dover Food Bank, or Grace United Church will be gratefully acknowledged. Garfield Fraser
FRASER, Garfield Joseph of Port Dover, passed away suddenly at his home, on Sunday, September 15, 2013, in his 67th year. Dearly loved husband of Alice Long, and cherished father of Nikita. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Ethel. Before his retirement Garfield was a painter and he loved to build things. He will be fondly remembered by his family and friends. In keeping with Garfield’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. An Associate Member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #158, Port Dover. Cherished companion and friend of Kathy Matthews and beloved husband of the Late Nellie Kalle (2008). Loving father of Patty Powell (Mike), Kapuskasing; Violet Molewyk (Richard), Port Dover; Robert Bussey, Simcoe; Debbie Klassen (Abe), Tillsonburg; Jeff Stamp (Trudy), St. Thomas and Lenore O’Brien (Scott) of Delhi. Dearest grandfather of fifteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, Earl and Violet (Porter) Stamp and by his two brothers John and Ernest. Nancy Barker
BARKER, Nancy Jane of Port Dover passed away suddenly on Friday, September 6, 2013 at Norfolk General Hospital in her 67th year. Nancy will be missed by Barbara Harrison and family, the Barker family and many friends and relatives. Predeceased by her parents James and Marion Shand and infant son Thomas Peter. She lived at Dover Cliffs LTC for many years and will be fondly remembered by the staff and residents. Nancy was a long time member of Grace United Church. A Memorial Service to celebrate Nancy’s life will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Grace United Church (Chapman & St. George Sts.). The Reverend Frank Walker officiating. Cliff Helka
HELKA, Clifford of Port Dover, passed away peacefully at home following a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by the love of his family, on Wednesday, September 4, 2013, in his 74th year. Beloved husband of Joyce. Cherished father and father-in-law of Russell (Sharon) of Simcoe and Tammy (Scott) of Port Dover. Loving grandfather of Chantelle, Chelseay, Hannah, Riley and Krysten. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Bruce (Kaye) of Sprucedale and Orvill (Lois) of Selkirk. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Clifford had many hobbies, among them, woodworking, playing cards, cutting wood, snowshoeing, and a connoisseur of desserts, but most of all he loved playing the guitar. It is with regret we announce the “Country Pickin’ Wood Physician” has left the building. ROZNIAK – Murray Jacob. At Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at the age of 87. Murray was predeceased by his wife Mary (Haviland) Anderson. He is survived by his brother Fred Rozniak, stepchildren Donna and Jeff Hudson, Bill and Donna Anderson and Susie and John Atkins; nieces and nephews and step-grandchildren. Predeceased by a brother Elmer. Murray was a general farmer in the area for many years.
