Many local sponsors support annual Community Christmas Luncheon at Port Dover Community Centre Dec. 25

SANTA’S Elves, Alabaster Snowball, Bushy Evergreen, Pepperminstix and Sugarplum Mary are all busy in the North Pole helping Santa.
Here in Port Dover, some equally important elves are preparing for the seventh annual Community Christmas Luncheon to be held at the Port Dover Lions Community Centre, 801 St. George Street on Wed., December 25 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The dinner is free thanks to a volunteer organizing committee and a large group of generous local sponsors.
For some, the family Christmas will be held some other time over the month of December. For others, they are alone on Christmas Day this year. Some are working here and unable to make the trip home. And yet again, some may be looking for an opportunity to share a Christmas meal with a group of community members and join in a carol sing. Last year, 210 people attended.
The community centre will be beautifully decorated for the season. The smell of roasting turkey will be wafting in the air. Or for those who prefer something else, there will be roast pork. The meal will include stuffing, mashed potatoes, vegetables, apple sauce, desserts and more.
