She moved to Wilsonville when she married Keith, raised four children while working as a registered nurse at NGH, BGH and then for family physician Dr. Jack Shaver. She was in one of the first classes of Nurse Practitioners. After they retired, Jean and Keith moved to Port Dover and loved their house near the beach. A wonderful grandmother to grand and great-grandchildren and hoped that there were always babies on the way. She was the type of grandmother who got down on the floor and played and even attended a Taylor Swift concert with some of them. She and Keith loved to travel and went on many cruises and spent a lot of time travelling and camping in their getaway van. Always a caregiver, right till the end, she never wanted to be a bother and always insisted that she could look after herself. Jean spent the last few months of her life at Parkview in Townsend. While we grieve for her and will miss her, at the end, she was ready to go, so we are grateful that she was able to pass so quickly from this world. She told us constantly that she had had a blessed life, and a wonderful family. You can’t ask for more than that. We want to thank the caring and compassionate staff and residents at Parkview in Townsend and Hankinson House-Stedman Community Hospice.
