UNDERHILL, Patricia Gloria – of Port Dover, on Sunday, September 2, 2012. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of a truly remarkable woman, the former Patricia Holmes, daughter of the late Frank and Ruby (Dickson) Holmes. After a brief illness and surrounded by her family, wrapped with the compassion and care of her loved ones, Trish left us to join family members gone before her. Born on September 20, 1938 in Hamilton, she retired to Port Dover after a long 30+ year career with The Hamilton Spectator where she progressed from a teletype setter to a journeyman printer in the composing room, embracing technology from lead set type to Quark XPress computerized production. After retirement, she kept busy with her home craft business, photography, Port Dover Bench Warmers and friends at the Dairy Bar. She was especially proud of her gardens surrounding her home and was a member of the Port Dover Woodhouse Horticultural Society and Grace United Church adherent. Cherished always by her children, Melodie (Vic) Janulis, La Salette, Ted (Claire Laker) Underhill, Tillsonburg; Gloria (Tony Balandje) Underhill, Hamilton: Joy (Raymond) Risebrough, Simcoe; and Michael (Pam Silliker) Underhill, Hamilton. Ed Robinson

ROBINSON, Edward Alexander. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ed Robinson on Friday, August 24, 2012 in his 83rd year, after a courageous battle with cancer. Like his father and grandfather before him, Ed spent his life working in the home building industry in Hamilton, Stoney Creek, Burlington, Ancaster and Niagara areas. For the last number of years, Ed made Port Dover his workplace and his home. Working in three Port Dover surveys, Ed worked alongside us, building homes and friendships with our homeowners as well as many other members of the Port Dover community. Many people met Ed on the Port Dover Pier each morning when he walked his dog Misty and he’ll also be missed by many who were used to seeing him each day driving around the Port Dover subdivisions and downtown.

We will always miss you Ed … our partner, our teacher and our friend.
