X-ray dept. has new owner and stays operating at medical centre

The Maple Leaf had a call from X-ray Technician Wendy Winstanley at the Port Dover Medical Centre’s X-ray department to report the good news that the local service will not be closing .
On December 4, The Maple Leaf reported that Ontario government regulations required the film-type x-ray equipment to cease across the province prior to 2015 in favour of digital x-ray equipment only.
According to the technician, that regulation has been extended enabling the Port Dover service to acquire a new owner and continue in operation.
Technician Winstanley reported the Port Dover equipment has been purchased by Norfolk Diagnostics based in Simcoe from Dr. S. C. Chou who is a radiologist at Norfolk General Hospital.
Wendy Winstanley and Cindy Golding operate the x-ray department in the Port Dover Medical Centre. The hours of operation are: Mondays 9:30 until 4 p.m. then have ultrasound appointments until 6:30; Tuesdays to Fridays 9:30 to 5:00 p.m.
