Port Dover Perch Derby ends Saturday with ‘Reel In Party’

There has been two tagged perch caught since last week’s Maple Leaf report. On April 29 Kevin Anckaitis landed a grey-tagged perch, paying him $100. On May 2 another grey-tagged perch paid angler Jovanni Barba $100.
Port Dover Board of Trade Manager Jan Overend reported Monday afternoon that 18 tagged perch have been caught, “leaving 22 still out there!”. A total of 40 tagged perch were lowered into the harbour on Friday, April 25 for a Saturday morning start.
There is still time to buy a registration at the Perch Derby trailer at the pier and fish for a winning perch. Or, buy a ticket to win the grand prize boat, motor and trailer which will be drawn Saturday evening. The annual ‘Reel-In Party’ will be held this Saturday evening in the Port Dover Legion auditorium on Market Street. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. There will be a pickerel dinner, tickets Adults $12, Juniors $7, tickets available at Perch Derby headquarters (trailer) on the pier.
During the evening there will be door prizes, Penny Table and draws.
