A collision just west of Port Dover last Wednesday morning took the life of 37-year-old Tara Veri.
Mrs. Veri was a wife and mother who lived in Simcoe. She worked for the Children’s Aid Society of Haldimand and Norfolk and leaves behind her husband and an eight-year-old daughter Alexis.
The funeral service for Mrs. Veri was held Monday morning at the Jason Smith Funeral Chapel in Simcoe.
The accident happened on March 6 at approximately 8:15 a.m. when a 1999 Lexus and a partially loaded concrete truck collided at the intersection of Highway #6 and Blueline Road. As a result of the collision both vehicles entered the south ditch with the truck coming to rest on top of the car.
Police report that the driver of the car was pronounced deceased at the scene by an attending Coroner.
The driver of the concrete truck, 33-year-old Shawn Warris of Norfolk County, sustained serious, non life-threatening injuries and was airlifted by an Ornge helicopter to a Hamilton hospital for treatment.
Norfolk County paramedics and fire department personnel were also on scene to assist.
A large area around the intersection was closed for several hours. OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators assisted with the investigation which police say is ongoing.

Ontario Provincial Police, Norfolk County detachment is currently investigating a two (2) vehicle collision at the intersection of Hwy #6 and the Blueline Road, Norfolk County, ON.
This collision is just west of the town of Port Dover, ON.

OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are assisting with the investigation.
Identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Hwy # 6 and Blueline Road intersection will be closed for several hours to allow for investigation.
