Board starts naming process

Before students from Doverwood Public School move into the school on St. George Street in Port Dover and join the grade 7 and 8 students, the Port Dover Composite School site needs a name appropriate for an elementary school.
Here’s your chance to provide input into the selection process for the Board of Trustees who will make the final selection at the Committee of the Whole Meeting No. 2 on June 10, 2013.
Some suggestions for the existing school can include, but are not limited to, the name of the existing elementary school, the name of the community or the neighbourhood which the school serves, or the name of a local, provincial, national or international individual who can provide inspiration to students.
Deadline for name submissions is May 8, 2013 at 4:00 p.m.
Submit your suggested name and your reason for why the school should have the name at info@granderie.ca or to Supt. Wayne Baker, Grand Erie School Board, 349 Erie Ave, Brantford, N3T 5V3.
The name cannot be the same name or similar to another school name within Grand Erie District School Board with the exception of a suggestion such as Doverwood Public School.
All names will be collected and compiled by Wayne Baker, Superintendent of Education, and submitted to the Transition Committee on May 9, 2013. The Transition Committee will then bring forward a maximum of three names to the Board of Trustees who will have final approval.
The public in invited to submit suggested names until May 8.
